NYCxDESIGN’s An Ode to NYC citywide poster exhibition takes place each October, with opportunities to experience the powerful collection expressing love for our city across all five boroughs. Launched in 2020 and returning again last year, the first two editions of the collection have featured posters by influential designers like Lori Weitzner, David Rockwell, Paula Scher, Karim Rashid, Sara Bengur, Harry Allen, Suchi Reddy, Manuel Miranda, Alison Rose, Liz Collins, and more. The beautiful graphic interpretations are distributed city-wide to windowfront locations in addition to being showcased digitally on an impressive set of publicly visible screens.

Watch a brief recap of the 2020 exhibition here and you can view all of the posters in last year’s collection here. We intend to continue the momentum of the previous two years into 2022!

The inspiration for the October 2022 campaign comes from remarks made by Mayor Eric Adams’ at NYCxDESIGN’s recent press conference:

“NYCxDESIGN resonates with what we must do in this future... We must design to not leave anyone behind. We have to design a more equitable future.” - Eric Adams, Mayor of New York City.

How We Will Spread Your Message
Your design will be included in a digital and print collection beginning October 2022.

Print

  • NYCxDESIGN will print a limited quantity of each poster. A few prints of your poster will be placed in various street-level windows/entryways of select NYC retail spaces and showrooms to spread the Ode throughout the city.
  • Additional prints will be available for purchase at Poster House. A portion of the proceeds from the poster sales will be donated to Design Advocates, a peer nonprofit in New York City committed to furthering design serving the public good.

Digital

  • The Ode to NYC will be promoted digitally through a dedicated landing page on nycxdesign.org and through a 4-week campaign across email and social.
  • In addition to promotion from NYCxDESIGN's digital channels, participating retail locations will also promote across their platforms to reach a wide audience of design professionals and enthusiasts.
